Rail-Highway Grade Crossing Program (RHC)

A federal funding category provided to the New Jersey Department of Transportation and is intended to develop and implement safety improvement projects to reduce the number and severity of crashes at public highway‐rail grade crossings. Eligible activities include signing and pavement markings at crossings, active warning devices, crossing surface improvements, sight distance improvements, grade separations, and the closing and consolidation of crossings.
