Professional Engineer (P.E.)

An engineer licensed by a state board of registration to practice engineering. To become a Professional Engineer a person must earn a four-year degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, complete four years of progressive engineering experience under a Professional Engineer, and pass the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam.
