Regional Transportation Plan

The SJTPO Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) serves as the official Plan for the SJTPO region and guides the region's transportation decision-making for a projected twenty-five year horizon.  The Plan sets the course for maintaining the existing transportation infrastructure while addressing future problems and needs of the region.

The Plan includes a comprehensive review of current transportation resources in the SJTPO region.  It includes highways, transit, bicycle/pedestrian and intermodal facilities, as well as freight and goods movement.  For each travel mode there is a review of the demand for travel, an assessment of needs and a discussion of opportunities and strategies for improvement, including, in some cases, detailed improvement proposals.
