Welcome to the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization home page.
The South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) is the Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) serving Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem counties in South
Jersey.
The "3C" Transportation Planning Process
MPOs are responsible for maintaining a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive
transportation planning process.
As an MPO, SJTPO provides a forum for cooperative decision-making among responsible state
and local officials, public and private transit operators, and the general public. In
addition, SJTPO coordinates the planning activities of participating agencies, and adopts
long-range plans to guide transportation investment decisions.
SJTPO is governed by the Policy Board, which consists
of eleven voting members.
